Job Description Provides leadership for the Tarleton Sports Medicine program and serves as university NCAA Healthcare Administrator. Responsible for the health and wellness of all student-athletes and oversees the daily operation of Sports Medicine services. Ensures university compliance with federal, state, local, and NCAA health regulations. Develops, reviews, and revises all Sports Medicine guidelines, policies, and procedures. Supervises all athletic trainers and oversees referrals to team physicians and other healthcare providers. Provide athletic training services as needed. Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA). Work hours as requirements indicate. Tarleton State University participates in the NCAA D1 and the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). Reports directly to Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration. Responsibilities 75% - Administrative duties. 25% - Sport assignment as needed. •Provide leadership for Sports Medicine program. •Serve as the university NCAA Healthcare Administrator. •Responsible for the health and safety of all student-athletes. •Ensure university compliance with federal, state, local, and NCAA health regulations. •Oversee the daily operation of Sports Medicine services at all athletic training facilities. •Develop policies and oversees referrals to team physicians and other healthcare providers. •Develop, review, and revise all Sports Medicine guidelines, policies, and procedures. •Hire, Supervise, evaluate, train, and mentor all athletic trainers. •Develop, review, and revise all Sports Medicine forms. •Develop and attain vendor contracts/discounts. •Organize pre-participation exams. •Manage budget and inventory. •Administer COVID testing and return-to-play protocol. •Supervise drug testing program. •Athletic training services as needed. •Other duties as assigned. *Requires the ability to teach and/or work remotely at the discretion of the university. Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree in Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or related field.
• 5 years experience in athletic training.
• Division 1 athletic training experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively.
• General knowledge of NCAA rules.
• Oral and written communication skills.

Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses

• Texas Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT eligible)
• Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)
• Health Care Provider CPR

  Preferred Requirements

  • Masters degree
  • 7-10 years experience in athletic training.
  • Division 1 athletic training experience.
  • Sports medicine administrative experience.
  • Experience with CAATE athletic training programs.
