Be a part of the Bobcat Athletics team serving approximately 350 student athletes in 15 NCAA sports. The Financial Aid Coordinator oversees all financial aid for student-athletes to ensure compliance with NCAA and institutional limitations. This is a full-time position within the Athletic Department.
- Organize and Coordinate the overall Scholarship Program for Bobcat Athletics. - Manage the overall scholarship budget as allocated to each sport. - Prepare scholarship and tenders of assistance within the guideline of MSU, the Big Sky Conference and NCAA. - Manage the National Letter of Intent program for Bobcat Athletics. - Manage team rosters and track participation per Title IX and other demographics necessary for required annual reports. - Provides education to parents and student-athletes and parents about athletically related financial aid. - Manage book scholarships. - Maintain and direct Student-Athlete Post Eligibility and Medical Scholarship Programs. - Supervises all student-workers assigned to the athletically related financial aid area. - Monitor scholarship dollars and limits to remain within budget and NCAA guidelines. - Balance scholarship activity to the Athletic Business Office/Banner. - Prepare Squad lists and evaluates aid types and permissibility per NCAA, Big Sky and MSU regulations. - Prepare cash and fee waiver authorization for scholarships within NCAA, Big Sky and MSU regulations. - Prepare room and board lists for Residence Life. - Monitor Foundation scholarships and initiate cash authorization. - Manage the NCAA/Big Sky Conference Special Assistance Fund (budget and expenses). - Prepare and mail reduction/cancellation of aid letters within NCAA deadlines and regulations. - Provide administrative support for the Bobcat Track and Field program. - Responsible for compliance with all Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, Montana State University, NCAA and Big Sky Conference rules and regulations. - Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
1-3 years of experience in athletics compliance, university financial aid or a related field, or combination of relevant work experience and education.
Proficient computer skills, including use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email software (Microsoft Office preferred).
Demonstrated skill organizing and prioritizing large volumes of work with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality; paying close attention to detail; meeting strict deadlines; and adapting to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional approach.
Administrative work experience with an emphasis on providing exceptional customer service in an office setting or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
