The Marketing Specialist serves as a member of University Marketing's (UMark) Creative Services group responsible for developing and executing strategic communications and marketing initiatives in support of the university's mission and brand. The UMark Marketing Specialist will:

- Support the UW-Madison brand through management of creative projects for the institution along with individual schools and colleges.
- Manage large and small-scale publications with a keen editing eye from concept to publishing.
- Oversee multi-channel creative projects

• 30% Develops, implements, and maintains strategic marketing plans based on research and established strategies
• 50% Develops, implements, and disseminates marketing materials through various communication mediums utilizing appropriate technologies and techniques
• 5% Collects, analyzes, prepares, summarizes, and disseminates data and trends relevant to ongoing or future marketing activities
• 15% Responsible for production management for On Wisconsin magazine, a quarterly alumni publication.

Required
Bachelor's Degree
Preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, English, or related field.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in professional communications or marketing role.
- Must have excellent writing and editing skills across all media.
- Must have proven ability to manage large-scale and complex print publications.
- Must have strong grasp of Adobe Creative Suite, web cms, and email marketing systems.
