The successful candidate will assist the Associate Commissioner for Football with the overall management and administration of the Conference’s football initiatives and programs. He/she will focus on regular season and Conference championship operational policies, their implementation and execution, and will assist with interpretation of policies if necessary. He/she will also perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Commissioner for Football and the Associate Commissioner for Sport Administration and Championships.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
FOOTBALL

Serve as the Conference’s primary manager for football operations and as part of the Sport Administration and Championship department. The candidate will work collaboratively with the Associate Commissioner for Football to ensure clear and direct lines of communication exist between the Conference office and the member institution athletic administrators, and coaches.

• Coordinate event operations at the Conference football championship, including marketing, promotions, staffing, sponsorship fulfillment, television, awards selection, game operations, media relations, and team logistics
• Assist with operational and policy matters related to football
• Responsible for the preparation and reconciliation of the football championship budget
• Maintain and publish the annual conference football policy manual
• Monitor policy violations and track potential policy changes
• Assist with regular season football scheduling
• Coordinate football officiating video program
• Support the Conference’s football officiating Alliance
• Manage the Conference’s participation in the National Open Video Exchange Co-Op
• Input all game videos into DVSport video system
• Coordinate the taping of all televised games
• Assist with instant replay activities
• Coordinate the Conference’s football command center
• Assist the Associate Commissioner in organizing all football meetings
• Provide support to the Associate Commissioner on special projects and/or events
• Represent the Conference at regular-season and postseason events
• Assist with operations and planning for the Conference’s football media day
• Assist with other Conference-related functions as assigned

SPORT ADMINISTRATION & CHAMPIONSHIPS

Serve as the Conference liaison to select Olympic Sports under the supervision of the Associate Commissioner for Sport Administration & Championships.

• Administrate and provide on-site support for select Olympic Sport Conference Championships.
• Assist with production of select Olympic Sport policy manuals and provide regular analysis and interpretation for policies and procedures
• Coordinate meeting agendas and process recommendations through the Conference’s governance system for select Olympic Sport coaches’ groups
• Monitor current NCAA trends in select sports as it relates to RPI analysis, data analytics, adjustments, and potential changes to playing rules, Championship date formulas and formats, and Championship site specifications
• Assist in the production of select regular season Conference schedules

The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 4-6 years of comparable experience in football operations and/or sport administration. Outstanding written and oral skills, extensive computer knowledge along with strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential for success in the position. Experience working within an athletic department or conference office at the collegiate level and a desire to work in college athletics administration is preferred.  Evening and weekend work will be required.

The individual must have the ability to work well with a variety of constituents, including Conference staff, administrators, coaches, and staff at member institutions.
