Job No. 515356 DIRECTOR OF ATHLETICS (Administrator III) CSUB Athletics Program: California State University, Bakersfield Roadrunners athletics' program transitioned to a full Division I member in July 2010 after having success on a national level within Division II. Shortly thereafter CSUB entered the WAC conference in July, 2013. The Roadrunner Athletics program then achieved a 15-year dream when the `Runners officially joined the Big West Conference on July 1, 2020. During this exponential growth period CSUB has reset records in Graduation Success Rate, Athletics Department GPA, and Academic Progress Rate.

Over the past 10-years A total of seven teams have won Conference Championships, including Baseball (2015), Men's Basketball (2016), Wrestling (2016), Softball (2016), and Volleyball (2014 and 2017). Additionally, the men's basketball team won the program's first regular-season WAC Championship in 2017. Individually, Roadrunners have won 19 WAC titles, six Pac-12 titles, three MPSF gold medals, and ten major conference awards.

About the position: The Director of Athletics is responsible for the overall management of the University's intercollegiate athletics program. Specific duties include supervision of sports programs, strategic planning, fundraising, personnel management, resource allocation, and assurance of compliance with all University, State, conference and NCAA policies. In addition, the Director of Athletics and Assistant VPSA must provide leadership in supporting: (1) academic excellence, (2) providing a positive student-athlete experience (3) pursuing competitive success, and (4) engaging the community. The position will report to the President and Vice President for Student Affairs on policy matters and to the Vice President for Student Affairs on operational matters with a dotted line to the CFO and Vice President for Business and Administrative Services regarding certain fiscal matters.
