Salary: $50000 to $70000 per year depending on experience and private lessons.
Private lessons: $3000 to $10000 Benefits: Health stipend, moving cost stipend, continuing education courses provided such as AVCA convention, GMS, Art of Coaching, etc.

The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA) is proud to provide high-quality volleyball training opportunities for over 2,500 hundred athletes in Virginia. The Volleyball Director will directly impact the athlete's improvement and curriculum enhancement to keep our programs running smoothly. You will also ensure that our training curriculums are well crafted and efficient by monitoring athletes' performance, coordinating skill and performance assessments, and communicating and learning with other coaching team members. NVVA's number of programs and athletes generates a constant stream of challenges that require you to continually be innovative with an evolving set of volleyball training methods and sports technologies. Keeping our volleyball training up to date and efficiently ensures the growth of our athletes and, in turn, volleyball. The ideal candidate believes in making sense of complex tasks by finding the right balance between our program curriculum and athletes' and coaches' needs. The goal is to ensure NVVA provides the best volleyball programs in Northern Virginia.
Education: An undergraduate degree in Business or equivalent is preferred but not required
Experience and Track Record: A suitable candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in coaching or managing volleyball programs. The candidate will also have a proven track record in program planning, defining and launching successful programs, unifying program portfolios, and working with coaches' training.
As a bonus, a suitable candidate for the position will have some experience in marketing and/or a Master’s degree in a related field.
Communication Skills: The Volleyball Director will also possess excellent communication skills. These are necessary because the position is cross-functional and demands constant interactions and deliberations with other departmental directors. In addition to this, the Volleyball Director will constantly make presentations to the President/CEO and stakeholders and represent the business and the program in external functions. All these roles require that the individual occupying the position have superior communication skills in verbal and written form.
Analytical Skills: As mentioned in the functions, the Volleyball Director is responsible for evaluating and authorization of proposed solutions and strategies from our coaches. As such, candidates will need to have a superior ability to synthesize diverse and complex information and data and design refined processes, solutions, workflows, and presentable procedures to the President/CEO and stakeholders.
Leadership: As the Director of the Volleyball Program department, all coaches rely on you for leadership and direction. As such, the Director must have excellent leadership qualities and have the ability to influence and inspire the coaches in applying various approaches or strategies to the volleyball program. The Director also acts as a mentor for coaches, offering guidance in the performance of their functions.
People Skills: Due to this position's high level of interactions, candidates must have excellent people skills and not just leadership skills. People skills enable the creation of long-lasting working relationships with consumers and facilitation of smooth collaboration and performance of functions internally.
Technology: The Volleyball Director must be proficient in word processing and spreadsheet analytical tools. They must also demonstrate expertise in using presentation software to create engaging content for presentations made to the President/CEO, the stakeholders, and external partners. This position requires heavy software, processes, and technology usage to smoothly and efficiently deliver the program.
