In accordance with the mission of the Department of Athletics, this position serves as Assistant Director, Ticket Sales & Retention for the department of Intercollegiate Athletics within the guidelines of the NCAA, the BIG EAST Conference and DePaul University. This position is responsible for generating significant revenue for DePaul Athletics through the sale of season tickets, mini-plans, group tickets, single-game tickets, and select promotional offerings along with the customer-service and fulfilment of these orders. This position will be responsible for meeting weekly, monthly, and annually assigned revenue and outbound call objectives as well as generating regular sales reports for senior leadership. Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director, Ticket Operations, Sales & Strategy, this role will conduct frequent market research to identify new leads and sales opportunities and use those findings to develop promotional and group ticket offerings.
Is This You?
-Sell and service men’s and women’s basketball season tickets, mini-plans, group tickets, single-game tickets, and select promotional offerings, while achieving annually assigned revenue and outbound call objectives. Lead all outbound sales efforts for DePaul Athletics, including supervision of sales interns, student workers, and/or part-time staff.
-Use the Paciolan ticket system and DePaul Athletics’ CRM platform to maintain accurate contact information, enter timely notes, utilize data to inform new leads, and input all touchpoints with prospective and current ticket buyers as they progress through the sales pipeline. Conduct a daily reconciliation of sales via the Paciolan ticket system to generate weekly and monthly sales figure reports for senior leadership.
-Engage with existing ticket holders and prospective buyers by attending and hosting promotional sales tables at athletics events, community events, and other special projects. Assist with ticket operations at events as requested.
-Conduct market research to identify new leads and sales opportunities. Collaborate with the Associate Athletics Director, Ticket Operations, Sales & Strategy to develop men’s and women’s basketball promotional and group ticket offerings that generate significant revenue, meet market demand, and provide a positive fan experience.
-Knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA rules, policies, and procedures. Attend and participate in monthly NCAA rules compliance education meetings. Performs other duties as assigned.
Your Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of 3 years of sports and/or entertainment ticket sales experience, preferably at the professional or NCAA Division I level.
Supervises 1 to 2 student workers or interns in the area of ticket sales. Responsible for the scheduling and assignment of ticket sales leads, outbound calls, and contacts via the CRM and Paciolan ticketing system.
Possess general knowledge of financial policies and cash handling procedures. Responsible for achieving an individual ticket sales revenue objective, while also achieving overall annual ticket sales revenue budget goals.
Other Skills & Abilities Required
Must be physically able to lift ticket stock boxes, promotional table materials, pop-up stands, weighing approximately 15-20 pounds. Periodically spend extended time standing and/or sitting (promo sales tables).
Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs.
Experience with a CRM platform (Salesforce) preferred.
Experience with a ticketing system/software, preferably the Paciolan ticketing system.
Advanced knowledge of the sales process and selling techniques.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong customer service background with ability to demonstrate professionalism and tact while dealing with a diverse customer base.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in working in a diverse urban and/or intercollegiate athletics environment.
Dedication to serving the department, the University and the student-athletes with the highest level of leadership, initiative, and integrity.
A working knowledge of NCAA, BIG EAST Conference, and University rules and regulations as they apply to intercollegiate athletics.
