Simpson College seeks qualified candidates for a Full Time Assistant Sports Information Director.
This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics Communication and will manage the day-to-day operations for the SC Athletics Communication department, emphasizing:
Assisting with the development and execution of the athletic department’s strategic digital communications and marketing strategy for assigned sports.
Writing and disseminating news and feature articles as well as pre- and post-game releases for assigned sports.
Assisting with oversight of Simpson Athletics social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other channels as well as provide assistance for sports-specific platforms.
Collaborating with the Office of Marketing & Strategic Communications on publications and graphics as well as the proper and consistent use of the College’s brand identity.
Assisting with facilitating game day coverage as well as train and supervise student employees to support statistical entry and athletic event operations.
Requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work with a diverse student and staff population
Strong organization skills
Demonstrable aptitude for computer skills (PC-based Microsoft Office applications and NCAA Statistical software).
The successful candidate will have the ability to work as a team member as well as independently.
