James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Sun Belt is seeking a Director of Player Personnel, Football to work within a highly competitive program. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package
The Director of Player Personnel will play an integral role within the JMU Football Program. Working with the Football Operations staff and Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator and reporting to the Head Football Coach, the individual serving in this position is responsible for the oversight of the recruiting department. This position will oversee the entire recruiting department, identify, evaluate, collect, and organize data on prospective student-athletes, manage recruiting territories for countable coaches, manage the film evaluation process and plan, supervise, coordinate, and execute unofficial and official visits, and coordinate camps and clinics. This position will also have a supervisor role.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Coordinate the daily prospective student-athlete recruiting operational and logistical processes with the James Madison University Football Program.
Collection, evaluate, identify, and organize data on prospective student-athletes to distribute to the countable coaches.
Develop, implement, and manage the film evaluation process for high school and transfer portal prospective student-athletes.
Work daily with the Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, Senior Director of Football Operations, Director of On-Campus Recruiting, Football and Director of Creative Media for Football.
Promotes a work environment of compliance and works closely with JMU’s Athletic Compliance Office to ensure that recruiting records are maintained and NCAA compliant.
Works with compliance to get an official evaluation of prospect student-athletes’ academic performance and make sure that proper documentation is provided to the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Plan and execute a twelve-month general correspondence calendar (mail, text, calls, zooms, recruiting videos and graphics)
Coordinate all communication for recruiting
Coordinate distribution schedule of all recruiting graphics and media
Supervise planning and coordinating of official and unofficial visits of prospective student-athletes to campus (itineraries, travel, hotel, hosts, meals, compliance paperwork, etc.)
Manage recruiting areas for all countable coaches and hold accountable ·
Making sure all recruiting boards are up to date and accurate
Set recruiting calendar for junior days, game days and other recruiting events
Collaborate with creative team on relevant and trendy ideas for recruiting graphics
Manage all recruiting services and data
Oversees and operate recruiting tours for campus
Coordinate and assist with all Zoom calls between recruits and coaches
Supervise and coordinate all camps, clinics, and walk-on program
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in collegiate football program.
Data entry and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (or similar software). Experience working with databases.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Five (5) years of experience working in collegiate football program.
