The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Olympic Sports Fueling Operations Manager. This is a full-time, contract position with a targeted salary of $55,000.00/year with full health benefits and membership in the UC Retirement Plan. Under the general supervision of the Olympic Sports Performance Dietitian the Olympic Sports Fueling Operations Manager will assist in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation and management of the fueling and food services provided to student-athletes representing Olympic Sports teams. The Olympic Sports Fueling Operations Manager will work in collaboration with current Performance Nutrition staff, Sports Medicine staff, and interns to ensure day-to-day operations of the Acosta Fueling Station, including but not limited to inventory management of all food and beverage products, scheduling, receiving deliveries, placing orders, and budgeting. The incumbent will be required to work daily shifts within the Fueling Station. Primary responsibilities include: coordinating travel snacks, hydration, and meals; managing the Athletic Fueling Station in Acosta, including budgeting, inventory, ordering, scheduling, receiving and distribution; collaborating with Olympic Sports Performance Dietitians and interns on best fueling practices; as well as some training and supervising of student interns and/or workers. Must possess ability to adhere to and comply with Department, University, NCAA and PAC-12 rules and regulations. This is not a Registered Dietitian (RD) position and candidates will not be providing nutrition education or counseling to student-athletes. Prior nutrition education or RD experience is not required.

All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities: GED/High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred; ServSafe Food Service Manager Certificate, or certification within 30 days of hire; 3+ years’ experience in a food service environment; Prior experience in the collegiate setting is desirable; Thorough understanding of food safety, procurement, and inventory standards of practice; Strong organizational skills required; Demonstrated compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and NCAA rules and regulations; Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, colleagues, professionals, and administrators; Skill at working as part of a team; Skill at managing shifting priorities and changing pace of workload; Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with culturally diverse students and staff; Knowledge of and ability to use various computer programs, email, and the Internet. Proficiency in budgeting, Microsoft Office Suite, Apple iPads, and record keeping; Skill at working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction; Ability to stand on feet for several hours at a time; Ability to lift 50, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 50 lbs.; Ability to work 40 hours/week, including some nontraditional hours, university scheduled breaks, and holidays; Consistent attendance and punctuality is imperative.
