Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director will assist in all aspects of successful professional management of the Athletic Department, with the goal of increasing the profile of IU Kokomo athletics and enhancement of the student-athlete experience.
Manages all website content and design, all marketing materials, and public communication documents for athletics (printed and web), managing all in-game statistical needs, as well as game recaps, game programs, scripts for PA announcer, in-game promotions, and overall coordination of in-game event management. Documents all records and historical milestones.
Manages all media contacts and build relations with various local and regional outlets. Acts as liaison to IU Kokomo media and marketing office for athletic communication. Manages all video and broadcasting content, including hiring and staffing play-by-play broadcasters and video operators, table crews/press box staff.
Develops video content for the website. Assists in the development of a cohesive social media plan and execution. Manages all River States Conference and NAIA awards with nominations, as well as serves on IU Kokomo, River State Conference, and NAIA committees, when possible.
Complies fully with all NAIA, River State Conference (or other conference) and Indiana University rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
Develops and manages the annual budget for the assigned sports program.
Manages team travel, including itineraries, rooming lists, meal arrangements, practice times, authorizations, reimbursements, and air and bus transportation.
Works with compliance staff on rules education, required compliance documentation, rules interpretations, and other compliance issues or requirements related to the assigned sports program.
Manages external relations and community outreach activities including community service and engagement by team members and coaching staff. Seeks out, investigates, and develops team opportunities.
Conducts a variety of human resource activities which may include, recruitment, selection, labor relations, training, and ensuring pay equity for functional area.
Develops and implements new processes, standards, and policies that ensure adherences to departmental goals.
Breaks down film and analyze data to prepare coaches as they study for game plans and strategy; works with coaches to evaluate practice and game performance; utilizes data to chart the tendencies of opposing team plays.
