Under the guidance and direction of the Manager of Esports, Competitive Interns are responsible for assisting in the execution of the following areas: assistance in managing NJCAAE Discord; new member competition onboarding assistance; assistance with competitive data management and collection; remote and LAN event planning and execution; review and assist answering member competitive questions, and assist the Manager of Esports in other functions relative to NJCAAE competition.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Assist in execution of NJCAAE competitions as directed.
Assist compiling and organizing match disputes.
Support NJCAAE members in competition by providing information and assistance as needed.
Assist in communications to ensure members understand all game schedules, rules, results, and recaps by posting correct information in a timely manner.
Assists in Supervision of NJCAAE Discord during competition times.
Assists in NJCAAE Manager of Esports and NJCAAE partners in the execution of physical tournaments as availability allows.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
Demonstrated experience in customer service, organization and planning.
Some sales experience is preferred.
Understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
The ability to establish and maintain collaborative, effective working relationships with team members, member colleges, athletic directors, student-athletes and the public.
Problem solving skills, judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in evaluating information.
The ability to write effectively and efficiently.
The ability to work as an individual and as part of a team.
Must be efficient and organized with a high level of attention to detail.
