Brandeis University seeks to hire an Athletics Equipment Coordinator. This person will coordinate the equipment needs for the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation. This includes assisting administrative staff and coaches in equipment needs and care, working collaboratively with coaches on equipment purchasing, including in-person interactions throughout the process. assisting with event management and help promote a healthy environment for home events and competitions.
This is a 12-month position responsible for the oversight of daily operations of the Equipment Room. This position is designed for a candidate desiring to enter and advance within collegiate athletic administration
Examples of Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate all services provided through the equipment room and the department including laundry, distribution of team uniforms and distribution and care of team equipment; specifically, daily laundering of uniforms, practice gear, and towels. Maintain records of equipment issued and returned for all varsity athletes. Process purchasing of uniforms and equipment including researching options and pricing and communicating with vendors. Ensure contractual obligations are met with vendors for specific sports. Coordinate with the Office of Procurement where appropriate. Monitor, maintain and help develop sport specific equipment budgets in relation to approved spending and ensure compliance with University and national governing body rules and regulations. Assist with event management of intercollegiate athletic contests, including set-up and breakdown of facilities. Assist with facility maintenance projects. Coordinate student employment schedule and supervise all student employees. Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required plus 1-3 years related work experience
Must be able to consistently lift and/or move 20 to 30 pounds and frequently lift and/or move 50 to 75 pounds
Valid driver's license required. Must be able to be insured by the University.
Ability to work weekends and evenings is required.
