Develop and execute annual game day parking plan for athletic events, solicit vendors (8-10) for contractual services for athletic event parking needs; review and edit those agreements to ensure university compliance; be the primary contact with vendors throughout contract and manage the agreements thru the completion of terms. You will communicate and liaison with Purdue Parking, Purdue Police and local Police Agencies (WLPD,LPD, Tip County, State Police), Other University Units for special events (i.e. RecWell, Purdue Grounds, Purdue Turf Farms, TEMA, etc.) regarding parking operations and traffic patterns as well as manage game day/special events towing logistics, enforcement of parking rules, bus and golf cart shuttles and contracts. In addition, you will develop game day/special events parking signage and lot identification to ensure positive experience with Purdue Athletics, maintain a relationship with parking software vendor and hire, assign, supervise, evaluate and terminate temporary non-student and student staff, as necessary, to provide professional game day services.
Parking Planning and Management :
•Manage parking lot Memorandum of Understanding (MOU’s)
•Monitor inventory control of assets/supplies. Requisition the purchase of assets/supplies
•Develop, maintain, and distribute parking lot and shuttle maps changing traffic flow
•Work with various departments to keep maps updated and communicated out to internal and external constituents
Game Day Parking Staffing:
•Direct the game day parking staff to include 90+ temporary non-student and student staff
•Oversee training of game day staff
•Develop and maintain a list of competent staff
•Administratively supervise one part-time parking assistant position
•Responsible for payroll processing
•Manage group contracts for game day/special events (service organizations, campus and community clubs, and Fraternity/Sorority)
Financial Management: •Negotiation of parking lot usage agreements with non-Purdue owned parking lots and game day parking transactions fees
•Develop and maintain relationship with parking software vendor
•Collaborate with Business Office & Ticket Office on post-game reconciliation of cash and credit card sales from parking sales
•Collaborate with Business Office on budget projections, both expenses and revenue
•Implement and complete other projects, programs and initiatives that may arise
•Assist with post-season bids and hosting duties
•Assist with athletic facility rentals and parking needs (non-game day events)
General Parking Management:
•Liaison with Purdue Parking Facilities Office
•Assist student-athletes with parking permits
•Oversee usage of daily athletics facilities’ parking lots
5 years’ experience in sport event planning, sports administration, scheduling Athletic events or related experience
Ability to effectively communicate with coaches, administrators, staff, external partners and visitors
Ability to plan and organize work to meet established deadlines
Ability to read, interpret, instruct, and effectively communicate complex rules, regulations, and guidelines (NCAA, Big Ten and Purdue University)
Ability to demonstrate planning, problem-solving, project management, quality control, data collection, public relations, and excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
Ability to foster a participative supervisory style that utilizes teamwork principles to successfully guide the work of others
Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business/sport processes
Personal computer and related software skills, e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, Internet, etc.,
U.S. or Canadian driver's license
Degree in Sports Administration, Sports Management, Management or related field preferred
Prior high school or college coaching, officiating, playing, or student manager experience
