The University of Pittsburgh requests applications for the position of Assistant Director of Media Relations. The individual filling this position will be a member of the department's media relations staff and report to the Assistant Athletic Director of Media Relations. Requirements include experience in a collegiate or professional media relations environment; outstanding oral and written communications skills; demonstrated organizational skills; and working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and The Automated Scorebook. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: serving as the media contact for various sports within the Athletic department; producing media guides, game notes, news releases and feature stories; generating feature content, video and other unique coverage for PittsburghPanthers.com, the official website of Pitt Athletics; responding to media requests; staffing home and selected away events; supervising statistical crews and other event support personnel; facilitating Pitt's social media outlets; compiling statistics, researching historical records for Pitt department of athletics publications and assisting the media relations staff with additional duties.
Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of related work experience.
