Provides assistance to various sport activities associated with the program and student athletes, including recruitment, practice and games. Assists coordinating and preparing team and recruiting travel, works in compliance with NCAA bylaws. Provides operational support for various sports.
Coordinates with Athletic Department Administration and serves as a liaison for sports with various University units (housing, compliance, and SAAC). On issues related to each respective area.
Assist in tracking and monitoring of sports operations budget for Softball and other sports yet to be determined.
Works with the Head Coach and assistant coaches with the team travel (including travel authorization requests, busses/vans, hotels and food); game day operations for the team at home (away, as needed) competitions.
Follows FIU procedures in handling all ordering of supplies and monitors the budget for any funds that flow through the athletic program sport-specific budget. Reviews, understands and abides by all department procedures.
Maintains confidentiality for the department and all student matters. Treats with utmost confidentiality and sensitivity of any matter pertaining to academic and personal data of student athletes and any information either directly or indirectly impacting the University and/or Athletic Department.
Coordinates activities for recruiting visits and works with the Compliance office to secure all admissions-related paperwork.
Works with Student-Athlete Academic Center (SAAC) staff and coaches in monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes through verifiable records.
Prepares student-athletes for team travel, including travel, including working with SAAC to coordinate assignments due during team travel.
Adheres to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Conference USA, and department rules and policies pertaining to the position of Coordinator of Sports Operations. Report any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance.
Serves as the University's credit card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University's credit card policies and procedures.
Performs other related duties are required as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that logically relate to the position.
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
