Your day to day:
The Assistant Director for the MAP Center assists the academic support and in the development of life skills programing of DI student-athletes.
This position must collaborate closely with the Athletic Compliance Office to coordinate the certification of NCAA student-athlete eligibility, as well as any other academic mandated NCAA or institutional academic programing. This position will provide direct academic support to approximately half of the teams as assigned. This number could fluctuate higher or lower depending on needs of the department and teams.
The Assistant Director for MAP responsibilities include assisting with all functions of the MAP Center, including but not limited to the following: Eligibility Certification (3X's year), meeting with PSA's during recruiting visits.
Manage a grade check system for all student-athletes.
Coordinate with campus on new student orientations.
Lifeskills - Active participant in helping to advise the (SALT) Student-Athlete Leadership Team, attend monthly meetings, oversee as appropriate or assist in the coordination of student-athlete events.
Teach Freshmen Success class geared directly for and toward student-athletes (approximately 2-3 sections per year).
Work and collaborate in all of the above with the greater campus, Academic Affairs and Student Affairs is also a responsibility of this position. Committee service as needed by the Athletic department and occasionally campus needs.
