Utah Athletics, a Division I institution and Pac-12 Conference member, is seeking an Assistant for Applied Health & Performance Science. This position exists within the Applied Health & Performance Science Department and will report to Anna Cruse, the Assistant Director for Applied Health & Performance Science. The purpose of this position is to provide support to varsity sports by assisting in the development and optimization of student-athlete performance, health, and wellness in accordance with the NCAA, Pac-12, and University of Utah regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, sports science, exercise physiology, biomechanics, statistics, physics, or related field
1+ years of practical experience in a high-performance sport environment (NCAA Division 1, Olympic, professional sports organization)
Required Skills & Abilities:
Ability to collaborate with a dynamic and diverse interdisciplinary team
Experience utilizing sport technologies such as GPS, force plates, heart rate, and motion capture
Demonstrated data analysis and visualization skills (Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, etc.)
Excellent verbal, written, and visualization communication skills
Experience communicating with coaches, staff, and athletes
Experience or coursework in statistics
Ability to work a non-standard work schedule (early mornings, evenings, weekends
Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.
