The Assistant Director of NIL is responsible for the education surrounding brand development for student-athletes at Louisiana State University. Additionally, this position will work with the Associate AD/NIL & Strategic Initiatives to support all recruiting efforts surrounding NIL. Responsibilities include identifying branding strategies and implementing opportunities for student-athletes to help them better understand the power of their personal brand within NIL through creative content and educational material, assisting with the management and execution of NIL opportunities for all student-athletes, and building relationships with external groups, student-athletes, coaches and staff to maximize the NIL efforts for LSU.
25% Work with the Associate AD/NIL & Strategic Initiatives to create educational resources for student-athletes, coaches, staff and recruiting purposes; Work with the Associate AD/NIL & Strategic Initiatives to create supplemental resources to help educate, communicate with and help secure relationships with local, regional, and national brands; Work with the Associate AD/NIL & Strategic Initiatives to provide both one-on-one and group education to the student-athletes, coaches and staff.
20% Support virtual and in-person recruiting efforts as permitted by NCAA legislation, including but not limited to, recruiting presentations for all sports, recruiting presentation material, educational resources, etc.; Support virtual and in-person recruiting efforts as permitted by NCAA legislation.
15% Work with the Associate AD/NIL & Strategic Initiatives to create educational material to be distributed on social media and NILSU app; Assist in the creation and execution of social and digital media strategies which enhance athlete recruitment efforts for all sport programs.
15% Assist with all educational events and in programming on university campus; Research and benchmark collegiate NIL industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions; Stay updated on the latest NIL trends and best practices, including legislative advancements, NCAA compliance regulations, and vendor landscape evolutions.
10% Work with student-athletes to create brand identity meetings helping to develop a strong personal brand for NIL and beyond; Work with student-athletes in content creation and what it means to invest in your personal brand; Monitor student-athletes social media usage and become familiar with Sprinklr platform to track social media growth.
10% Assist student-athletes in fulfilling university and state disclosure requirements as determined by each institution; Develop new business for designated university athletes through identifying and pursuing new and unique NIL opportunities; Collaborate with designated university stakeholders to create new opportunities with established brand partners that generates increased engagement on campus.
5% Adapt role to maximize opportunities as a result of evolving changes in NCAA rules and regulations; Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department diversity and inclusion initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree with two years of related experience; Organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience in a DI athletic program as a coach or administrator; Knowledge of collegiate athletics, NCAA rules and regulations, and SEC rules and regulations.
Special or Physical Qualifications
Ability to work extended days, nights and weekends as needed.
