Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the Assistant Director of Strategic Communications will manage the day-to-day digital communications for the Marketing and Communications Department.
Responsibilities include taking full ownership over the social media accounts, identifying new media opportunities, effectively connecting Mass Golf with its members and audiences through various mediums, running email marketing campaigns end-to-end and managing the smooth operations of various digital projects.
The successful candidate is a tech-savvy team-oriented professional with innovative ideas to improve golf community engagement through creative digital communications. A strategic thinker who is methodical, has excellent time management skills and can use their communication skills to collaborate effectively with various departments and constituents.

Develop overall yearly marketing campaign strategies for Mass Golf.
Video Recaps – shoot, edit, and package championship & event recaps.
Responsible for generating, editing, and sharing engaging digital content daily on Mass Golf’s website and social media channels with the end goal of helping to sustain and grow the membership. Inclusive of features, interviews, and special series.
Provide a benefit to member clubs by showcasing their unique qualities through visual and written content.
Serve as one of the primary graphic designers for Mass Golf creative.
Manage advertising agency relationships while assisting with the creation of advertising assets – film, edit, and produce commercials; design digital and print advertisements.
Manage Mass Golf’s email marketing and communications efforts by implementing industry-leading practices with regards to engagement strategies and campaign performance on Hubspot (CRM Platform) and the USGA Email Platform.
Guide and support all departments in their digital communications efforts to ensure brand standards are met, messaging and style are consistent with all other Mass Golf digital communications, and collaborating to develop new sources of content.
Content management for association website. Edit/build website pages and structure; serve as a resource and help educate the staff on website processes and infrastructure.
Evaluate and monitor website user experience, analyze web traffic and social media metrics to affirm and/or inform on strategic plans.
Oversight of USGA Boatwright Interns while helping teach, guide, and mentor them.
Assist with ideation and fulfillment of sponsor commitments and assets.
Assist with written communication for all assigned Mass Golf/affiliated events: press releases, previews, player/host club storylines, daily recaps, summaries and results.
Develop marketing strategy for promotion and growth of Junior programming.
Oversee the management of the website, social media accounts, and promotional efforts of The Links at Mass Golf, an 18-hole par 3 facility and golf simulator location.
Assist with special projects as assigned by Director of Marketing & Communications.
Expert in the Adobe Creative Suite with a priority on video
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Proficient with Social Media Platforms and Microsoft Office Products
Graphic design and/or multimedia storytelling and editing experience preferred.
Possess a strong work ethic and organizational skills with a proven ability to learn quickly and work efficiently
Ability to manage a series of projects with different groups and teams
Experience with Content Management Systems/Email Marketing Software
Knowledge of and passion for the sport of golf is preferred
Understanding of, and commitment to the goals and philosophy of Mass Golf
Charismatic, personable, and motivational in working with colleagues, volunteers, and industry representatives
Proven ability to learn quickly, work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Sport Management, Film & Video Production, Photojournalism, related field
5 years of related experience
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must possess ability to work extended days, work nights, weekends and potentially holidays, as required, with travel around the state of Massachusetts
Ability to operate and carry camera equipment (up to 25 lbs)
