The Director of Development, Major Gifts, will be responsible for managing a portfolio and identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and soliciting donor prospects for major gifts of $50,000 or more to Pitt Athletics. The incumbent must think strategically and practically to execute a comprehensive fundraising plan and meet established metrics as it relates to visits, qualifications, proposals, and closures. The incumbent will also serve as a direct point of contact for one or more varsity team(s), working directly with the head coach and sport administrators on the team's fundraising needs. The Director of Development, Major Gifts, reports directly to the Associate Athletics Director, Major Gifts.
Ability to work independently but collaboratively in a goal-oriented team environment. Ability to travel and work evenings/weekends when required. Bachelor's degree with three to five years of relevant experience required, Master's Degree preferred. Experience in athletic development fundraising preferred. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted as determined by the University.
