The Sun Belt Conference is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Commissioner for Championships and Sports Administration. The position would begin January 2023. The Sun Belt Conference offices are located in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Assist with the planning, management, coordination, and execution of all Sun Belt Championships.
Coordinate on all aspects of Sun Belt championship events with host institutions and neutral site partners, including but not limited to the preparation of host and championship manuals, on-site visits, event signage, awards, merchandise, marketing and branding initiatives, hospitality, hotels, and transportation for staff and officials.
Assist with the preparation of coaches’ meetings and conference calls.
Assist in the day-to-day administration and management of sports sponsored by the Sun Belt, including but not limited to preparation of sport regulations, oversight of NCAA sport playing rule changes, education of campus staff on regular season game-management procedures, processing of schedule game change forms, research potential neutral sites, and prepare campus bid information to host conference championships.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree; post-secondary degree is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and computer proficiency are required.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills are required.
Working knowledge and experience with using Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign) software is a plus.
Five years’ experience in athletics administration and/or sports management experience required.
