Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Video Services and Production, the Multimedia Associate creates engaging content across all NJCAA platforms and provides technical and creative assistance with the NJCAA Network.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned:
Provide creative and technical assistance with the NJCAA Network. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, editing videos and highlights, creating graphics or other creative elements, developing content for network or social media, organizing interviews and serving as talent as necessary or needed.
Assist with national championship content including clipping and editing highlights, organizing content for selection shows and bracket reveals and other creative or original content featuring national championships.
Develop content for social media platforms and the NJCAA platform on a weekly basis to further showcase NJCAA student-athletes and member colleges, in addition to the NJCAA brand.
Provide technical support such as camera operation, producing or talent for NJCAA content and original programming.
Support the marketing department while following brand guidelines to seek content creation opportunities that exist throughout the association such as feature digital storytelling, highlight videos, and interviews.
Assist in maintaining video and production equipment as necessary for the marketing and communications department and NJCAA Network.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills
Associates degree required, Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred with a major/minor in video production, communications, multimedia, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Previous professional experience in the video production or communications field preferred, specifically in the college athletics industry, with general knowledge of content creation, video production, and social media platforms.
Demonstrated customer service, organization, leadership, planning, and conflict management.
A strong command of Adobe Creative Suite applications, including Premiere Pro or relatable video editing software. Working knowledge of video production resources, including Tricaster, or similar platforms.
Ability to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in video production software, sports terminology, sports writing, photo editing, and video editing.
Experience in directing talent, coaches, and players during interviews, commercial shoots or other various productions.
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to establish positive public relations and to interact effectively with staff, member colleges, athletic directors, student-athletes, fans and the public.
The ability to establish and maintain collaborative, effective working relationships with team members, member colleges, athletic directors, student-athletes and the public.
Problem solving skills, judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in evaluating information.
The ability to work as an individual and as part of a team.
Must be efficient and organized with a high level of attention to detail.
