Southwestern Community College department of athletics is seeking graduate assistants for the 2023-2024 academic year. The graduate assistant is responsible for duties as assigned by the head coach/athletic directors and will also have residential life responsibilities. This is a ten-month, two-year appointment, pending successful evaluation at the end of year one.
Depending on the candidate pool, the following coaching positions are available: •Graduate Assistant, Men’s and Women’s Golf •Graduate Assistant, Softball •Graduate Assistant, Women’s Volleyball •Graduate Assistant, Men’s Basketball •Graduate Assistant, Women’s Basketball •Graduate Assistant, Dance •Graduate Assistant, Track and Field •Graduate Assistant, Baseball

Previous high school or collegiate level coaching and/or playing experience required. Must possess maturity and good character and the ability to relate well with college students. Good people and communication skills are a must along with the ability to balance multiple duties and projects. Some experience in college housing either as a student or employee is desirable.
Must be enrolled at all times in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
Southwestern Community College (SWCC) is one of 15 public community colleges in Iowa. The main campus is located in Creston, with a population of 7,597. Enrollment is approximately 1600 students.
