4. Assist with the day-to-day strategic communications

6. Manage and direct social media content for assigned sports
7. General knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite to create graphics for upcoming games and athletic events
8. Keeping statistics, maintaining program records, and other duties as assigned
9. NCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University-related activities operate in full compliance with University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rule violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
NOTES: Additional Salary Information: Graduate Assistants receive up to $40,000, including tuition, fees, and a stipend. Costs cannot exceed $40k for the academic year, including summer session(s). If the academic program is less than $40,000, you may receive a stipend of no more than $1,200 per month up to a grand total of $40,000 after paying tuition and fees. If the academic program is more than $40,000, you will be responsible for all remaining costs above that amount.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, Journalism, Communications, or a closely related field.
At least 1-2 years of experience working in athletics communications (can include student worker experience)
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to interact effectively with coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and vendors
Strong organizational, management, and leadership skills
Proficient computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and social media
Proven ability to multi-task effectively
Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
Available to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends
Travel with sport teams for selected away contests
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Through knowledge of NCAA and American Conference rules and regulations
Candidates will need to be accepted to a graduate program within the University and be enrolled for the fall, spring, and summer terms to receive a stipend.
