This position is a senior staff level position that will report to the Vice President for Student Affairs & Intercollegiate Athletics and will serve as the Chief Diversity Officer of the Department of Athletics. The position will support the overall diversity, equity and inclusion efforts for the department and work closely with the University Human Resource Officer to ensure equitable hiring practices within the Department of Athletics. Additionally, this position will be responsible for scheduling and management of assigned home athletic sporting events to include supervision of event staff, game officials, and support personnel to ensure the event is run in accordance with ASC, SCAC and NCAA regulations. Position will be responsible for scheduling student game day and event workers for all home athletic events.

Job Duties: Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (60 percent) -Support the Department of Athletics in all DEI efforts, including contributing to special projects -Collaborate with student affairs colleagues to develop and implement DEI programs designed to educate scholar athletes, coaches, and administrators -Serve on McMurry’s Athletics Senior Staff in order to ensure diverse perspectives are considered in decision making process -Serve on the McMurry University Diversity Council to engage in dialogue that will create a more inclusive University environment -Work closely with VP for Student Affairs & Intercollegiate Athletics to evaluate coaches and staff, while reviewing scholar-athlete survey responses in an effort to enhance equity -Responsible for creating dialogue and developing programs to ensure a welcome environment for all scholar athletes -Will lead McMurry’s Scholar-Athlete Diversity Council -Foster campus relationships and community partners to implement and support diversity and inclusion programming Administration (40 percent) -Periodically serve as event manager for home athletics events, high school events, and tournaments. Individual is to assist in the planning & execution of events including scheduling necessary event-related personnel such as officials, table/timing crew, public address announcers, event staff, security, volunteers, and medical. -This individual will work closely with each team’s coaching staff and the facility staff to ensure all events are organized in compliance with ASC/SCAC/UIL/NCAA guidelines and serves as the main point of contact for visiting teams. -Serve as point of contact for Fan/Guest services for athletics event management department. -Individual serves as the point of contact for all external communication and customer service, to include fan issues and concerns. This person provides oversight, hiring, and scheduling of student workers for event management game day staffing. -Responsible for assigning locker rooms and ensuring facility is recruit and game ready -Position responsibilities will include program or sport supervision -Assist in other administrative duties that may include donor relations, scholar-athlete experience enhancements, budgeting, and other duties assigned.

Education: Master's Degree is required (preferred in Sports Management)
Experience: 4-5 of experience in NCAA Division III athletics administration or coaching. Experience serving an institution with a diverse student body.
