The University of Pittsburgh requests applications for the position of Assistant Director of Strategic Communications. The individual filling this position will be a member of the department's strategic communications staff and report to the Director of Strategic Communications.Requirements include experience in a collegiate or professional media relations environment; outstanding oral and written communications skills; demonstrated organizational skills; and working knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, NCAA Live Stats, and The Automated Scorebook.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: serving as the media contact for women's volleyball; producing media guides, game notes, news releases, and feature stories; generating feature content, video, and other unique coverage for PittsburghPanthers.com, the official website of Pitt Athletics; responding to media requests; staffing home and selected away events; supervising statistical crews and other event support personnel; facilitating Pitt's social media outlets; compiling statistics, researching historical records for Pitt department of athletics publications and assisting the media relations staff with additional duties. The position is heavily involved in all aspects of the volleyball program including marketing, development, alumni relations, content creation, etc.This position will also write features periodically for H2P Magazine as well as have the opportunity to serve on various committees across the athletic department.
