The Colorado State University Assistant Manager for Athletic Business Operations ensures that financial tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to, purchase requisitions, internal orders, transfer of funds, procurement card transactions, monthly and year-end reporting, recruiting/recruiting travel authorizations and reimbursements, are appropriately and properly processed and recorded in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position works directly with the Athletic Department travel agency Shorts Travel Management to assist Olympic Sports book team and recruiting travel. The Assistant Manager for Athletic Business Operations serves a primary role for all Athletic Department Employee recruiting, including job description creation and modification, open position posting, and candidate management. This employee will contribute toward the assignment creation and maintenance of the Athletic Department’s full time, part time, and student workers through the Oracle HR System and TimeClock Plus Manager portal. This position works with the Athletics Business Manager, Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations and the Deputy Director of Athletics Director/CFO to ensure adequate internal controls are installed and that substantiating documentation meets or exceeds internal and external audits.
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, Business Management/Operations, Economics, Organizational Management/Development, Sports Administration/Management, or any other field related to responsibilities and duties.
Minimum 2 years of experience in NCAA/professional sports
Minimum 2 year of experience in financial management, budget management, or accounting
