Cultivate and expand awareness, affinity and support for the university and its athletic programs through strategic communications and public relations. Build relationships and regularly communicate with local, regional and national media outlets to facilitate coverage of athletic programs. Work directly with national television broadcasts to ensure accuracy, provide information and tell the USF story in a positive manner.
Write, edit and distribute press releases, game stories, game notes, media guides and other pertinent written materials and ensure accurate and timely updating of sports pages on athletics website GoUSFBulls.com. Nominate and promote student-athletes for awards.
Lead creative and engaging social media efforts to project the USF brand for athletics programs, working closely with the athletics designer, Bulls Vision and digital media strategist to produce graphics, GIF's and short video.
Plan, coordinate and supervise game day media functions and credentialing of staff and media for designated sports.
Assist in the recruitment, coordination, and instruction of a student volunteer staff of approximately 8-10 individuals that assist with functions of the communications department.
Work with Assoc AD for Communications to develop and implement strategy and lead communications office; coordinate photo shoots; execute some office manager duties; interface with other athletics departments, university personnel and external publics and create positive and productive relationships.
Maintain accurate historical records, biographies and statistics and coordinate the keeping of in-game statistics for designated sports.
Work with head coach, coaching staff and student-athletes to prepare them for successful media interactions and social media use.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience that is directly related to duties and responsibilities specified.
