Summary Description: Direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities and operations within Ed Robson Arena and provide leadership in the Executive Director's absence.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily activities and event related operations of the arena to include programming, scheduling, risk management, and external rentals.
Direct and manage personnel involved in operating and maintaining the facility; develop and maintain staffing initiatives to include hiring, training, scheduling, and oversight of on-call/occasional staff.
Work closely with the athletics department, campus, governing bodies, and the city of Colorado Springs in support of marketing, coordinating, and scheduling events in the arena; serve as the primary event contact as instructed by the Executive Director to ensure proper arena set-up and event staffing coverage.
Manage all aspects of the arena in the absence of the Executive Director.
With assistance from the Operations Coordinator, develop, manage and execute arena programming to include organizing facility usage (rental and event operations) and implementing logistical setup/take down and event coverage for all events, including but not limited to intercollegiate, college, external, club, camp, City for Champions initiatives and all other rentals.
Assist with monitoring the arena budget and meet expected revenue targets annually; establish and review annual fee structure for a variety of activities and programming.
Assist the Executive Director in oversight of maintenance of the arena, provide recommendations for current and future needs for the facility; perform research and make recommendations for capital equipment requests; check all equipment regularly to ensure safety and proper function.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to purchase and order all equipment and maintain accurate inventory.
Assist with developing and managing event-related contracts, policies, and relationships with current and future clients.
Maintain awareness of and adherence to the rules and policies of Colorado College, the conference, and the NCAA. Perform maintenance on hockey and skating equipment including skate sharpening and equipment repair. Work flexible hours to include evening, holiday, and weekend schedules as needed.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of three years (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) of related and progressively responsible leadership experience in facilities and logistics management and knowledge of sports arenas; results oriented with experience in budget planning and management; strong business acumen, organizational and collaborative skills with keen judgement and attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate professionally and work effectively with a diverse group of constituents, including coaches, guests, college representatives, parents, students, alumni, donors and representatives of the Colorado Springs and business community; proficient with computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point; understanding of social media to include website management and promotion via social media; ability to perform occasional heavy physical effort to operate ice arena equipment such as ice resurfacing equipment or moving goals or chairs.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher along with NCAA Division 1 level event operations experienced preferred and certification in Ice Arena Management, Ice Arena Operations, and Ice Arena Programming or the ability to obtain certification upon hiring.
