Job Summary
The Assistant Academic Counselor will be supervised by an Associate Director of Academic Success with the primary responsibility of meeting with an assigned caseload of student-athletes to develop and improve academic skills and contribute to the development and maintenance of objective-based study hall plans. Additional duties related to the role include, but are not limited to:
Essential Functions
Assist student-athletes in setting and tracking manageable weekly objectives
Monitor and document weekly progress and NCAA eligibility
Collaborate with other Academic Success staff in strategy and management of student-athlete academic support and objective-based study hall plans
Serve as secondary academic counselor to two Olympic Sport teams and assigned Football and Men’s Basketball student-athletes
Create and communicate weekly reports to assigned coaching staff including but not limited to progress reports, grade reports, and appointment reports
Assist with semester registration advising for assigned student-athletes
Provide support with Student-Athlete Development special projects and programming
Participate in athletic certification and APR meetings with representatives from the registrar’s and compliance offices
Adhere to NCAA, University, and educational regulations.
