The Assistant Athletic Director for Administration is a member of the senior administrative team within the Department of Athletics. This position provides strategic leadership and vision in the oversight of athletics involvement in student-athlete academic progress, compliance, diversity, campus community initiatives, the student athlete code of ethics, team transportation, game management, and student-athlete evaluations of coaches. responsible for providing broad administrative support for the Director of Athletics. Reporting to the Athletics Director, the Assistant Athletic Director for Administration provides administrative support for the department, oversees the day-to-day operations of the Department of Athletics, and provides front-line guidance and assistance to students, parents, coaches, and staff. This position also provides supervision to assigned athletics coaches/personnel and represents the Department of Athletics both on and off campus.
Provides sport oversight for select programs and support staff.
Assists with interpretation of NCAA rules, develops procedures and policies to remain in compliance, plans and implements education and training for staff, monitors eligibility and financial aid, advises and counsels athletes on eligibility, and assists with the overall monitoring of rules compliance in accordance with College, NESCAC, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Oversees operation and coordination of camps and clinics, ensuring proper compliance with institutional policies and fostering communication between camp operators and department administration
Assist in completion of all mandatory NCAA, NESCAC, and government required reporting.
In collaboration with the Associate AD - Facilities & Operations, gathers, maintains and distributes the master events calendar for the department, communicating changes to necessary staff members.
Manages all aspects of team transportation and game contracts, holding coaches accountable for completion of the appropriate paperwork and managing the relationship with the contracted transportation company.
Coordinates and provides administrative support for the director, associate and assistant directors, and coaches when necessary.
Manages the schedules of a number of staff, including the Director of Athletics and Senior Associate Director of Athletics.
Track and maintain rosters and student-athlete statuses and update databases accordingly.
Tracks and maintains student Physical Education requirement fulfillment in Banner.
Responsible for coordinating staff search committees as well as the new-hire onboarding and offboarding with human resources and department staff.
Coordinates arrangements with coordinator of housing and residence director for preseason and vacation period housing and meals for student-athletes.
Manages the creation, content, and distribution of student evaluations of coaches.
Manages booking of events and practices held in all athletic facilities, including varsity, club, and intramural sports as well as off-campus requests.
Availability for frequent evening/weekend work at major athletic events.
Completes and processes various external forms including vendor contracts.
Provides general assistance to students, faculty, and staff for questions or concerns that arise.
Monitors and updates the content of Athletics-affiliated websites.
