Design, implement and directly supervise strength and conditioning programs for specified athletic programs.

Responsible for fostering a culture of innovation and excellence with Sports Performance and the Athletic Department, including but not limited to usage, monitoring/analysis with and of appropriate technology.

Maintain a complete data file of individual student-athletes training performance.

Coordinate the rehabilitation of an injured athlete with the sports medicine department.

Assist all programs with the design of their respective strength and conditioning components.

Assist all programs with proper guidelines for nutrition.

Supervise a varying number of full-time, graduate and part-time student employees. Responsible for equipment purchases, maintenance and cleaning.

Responsible for the supervision of the budget.

Responsible for Unit leadership with other areas.

Responsible for effective cross-unit and departmental collaboration and communication with coaches and staff.

Attend conferences, conventions, clinics, etc., consistent with Department policy.

Actively engage in the University and Athletic communities.

Other reasonably related duties as assigned.

               Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred in exercise science or related field.

               Excellent organizational, oral and written skills required.

               Current first aid and CPR certification required.

              Current and active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Assoc.

             (N.S.C.A.) (preferred); or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Assoc.        (C.S.C.C.A).           

             Must be a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.) (preferred) or Strength               and Conditioning Coach Certified (S.C.C.C.).

             Previous coaching experience required.

             Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics as                 they relate to this position.                 

            Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

           Working knowledge of the repair and maintenance of athletic strength  and training                        equipment.

            Successful supervisory experience.

            Working knowledge of budget and business practices preferred.

             Ability to travel, normally requiring a valid driver’s license.
