Description of Work:
The Nebraska Manufacturing Extension Partnership provides expert consulting, diverse training programs, industry events and workshops, and customized assistance to enrich the productivity, technological performance, and competitiveness of the state's small- to medium-sized manufacturers. As the Sales and Supply Chain Manager, you will:
Report directly to the Center Director and provide guidance to business development activities of the Nebraska MEP.
Develop new and follow-on business with manufacturers, assessing and monitoring needs of manufacturers, and coordinating with other state, federal, internal UNL and third-party service providers.
Develop solid business relationships with the various decision-makers and influencers at all levels at target accounts, to build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating and closing business relationships and to build market awareness of Nebraska MEP through participation in industry events and organizations.
Strict adherence to University of Nebraska confidentiality policies is required. Position involves travel to potential and existing clients' companies.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, technology or related field plus three years of supply chain or similar relevant experience required.
Demonstrated experience in the application of best business practices and ethics.
Experience must demonstrate excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, project management, organizational, planning, problem analysis/solving, technical sales, and information management skills.
Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy.
Client relationship management software skills and proficiency with MS Office products.
Familiarity with data analysis and reporting.
Must have a valid driver's license and meet university driving requirements.
Successful experience developing resources and partnerships with both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
Experience with community relations, continuing education, and marketing execution.
Experience working with a state MEP program.
Experience in a sales representative role within the manufacturing industry.
Event planning/management experience.
Relevant manufacturing product and industry knowledge.
