The group provides fresh ideas and broad distribution to help clients get the most out of each stage of a transaction, and continually develops capital markets solutions to enable clients to mitigate strategic, operational, credit and market risks.
Our New York office is looking for a Vice President to join the Securitized Products Capital Markets group. A successful Vice President will: - Provide leverage to team members: have a "commercial mind-set" to understand how personal contributions result in revenue generation and creation of shareholder value - Have a sense of urgency and understand how individual work performance (including speed, attention to detail, quality) impacts the firm's ability to serve clients - Possess a positive attitude and determination to complete tasks while demonstrating intellectual curiosity to understand the product and business - Analyze and interpret data: can identify trends and themes in quantitative analyses and communicate them effectively - Have a desire to develop into a role requiring frequent interaction with clients to provide market updates and seek new business opportunities - Anticipate needs of client, team and senior bankers: show initiative to support team members and be pro-active with improving processes and responsibilities - Be able to read and comment on transaction documentation in addition to coordinating across the client, law firms and banking teams to manage the process - Collaborate across GCM / FID and IBD to manage internal processes and relationships - Have a strong attention to detail - Ability to multi-task, wearing multiple hats at one time - 6+ years of experience within financial sector, experience in Global Capital Markets with a strong preference for specific Esoteric Capital Markets (or general Securitization) deal expertise - You have an ability to manage multiple projects, proficiency in corporate finance, and organization with a proven track record to run processes on multiple executed deals - The work is fast-paced, demanding and intellectually stimulating, so candidates should possess excellent quantitative, analytical and communication skills and be able to work well under pressure with the aptitude to synthesize large amounts of information - Candidates should be adaptable, know how to prioritize, be able to manage projects independently, and be prepared to assume a high level of responsibility - Extraordinarily high level of motivation and commitment to working hard - Excellent written and verbal communication skills which includes strong client and interpersonal skills - A positive attitude and a strong work ethic is important to being able to handle the work load - Strong teamwork and communication skills is a must - Excellent writing, research, and presentation skills (e.g., proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word) - Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA would be an asset - Licensed with Series 79 and 63 (or must obtain); Series 7 is a plus - New York City based
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $250,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
