We're seeking someone with audit and, ideally, market risk experience to join our team as a Director within the Market Risk Audit team.

In the Audit division, we provide senior management an objective and independent assessment of the Firm's internal control environment for risk management and governance. This is a Director level position within Business Audit, which is responsible for inspecting controls in front, middle and back offices.

What you'll do in the role:
â?¢ Help identify and assess inherent market risk and impact to relevant coverage area to prioritize areas of focus.
â?¢ Execute and lead aspects of risk assessments and assurance activities (e.g., audits, continuous monitoring, closure verification) to assess risk and formulate a view on the control environment.
â?¢ Prepare audit planning documentation, conduct walkthroughs, and assess the internal control environment through control and substantive testing.
â?¢ Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of key controls and potential business concerns by analyzing available documentation and asking insightful questions to identify root causes and draw the appropriate conclusions.
â?¢ Clearly document the results of work performed in the Department's automated workpaper system according to Departmental methodologies and documentation standards.
â?¢ Facilitate conversations with stakeholders on risks, their impact(s) and how well they are managed in a clear, timely and structured manner.
â?¢ Assist in managing multiple deliverables in line with team priorities.
â?¢ Solicit and provide feedback and participate in formal and on-the-job training to further develop self and peers.

What you'll bring to the role :
â?¢ At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
â?¢ Understanding of business line and key regulations relevant to coverage area.
â?¢ Strong understanding of audit principles, methodology, tools and processes (e.g., risk assessments, planning, testing, reporting and continuous monitoring).
â?¢ Ability to identify and analyze multiple data sources to inform point of view.
â?¢ Ability to ask meaningful questions, understand various viewpoints and adapt messaging accordingly.
â?¢ A commitment to practicing inclusive behaviors.
â?¢ Experience auditing capital markets or market risk management in a bank or broker/dealer-regulated environment
â?¢ A good understanding of the financial services industry, and the associated regulatory environment;
â?¢ CPA, CIA, CFA or FRM certification is a plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $75,000 and $130,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
