The University of Notre Dame University Operations, Events, and Safety division is currently hiring for the position of Manager - Modern Market within the Duncan Student Center. The University Operations, Events, and Safety division leads the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives. As part of the event management role, the division is responsible for the planning and execution of a wide range of University events from Commencement to concerts and special events on football game weekends.
Why this position? This is a front line supervisory position responsible for the production of food and customer service for University students, staff, faculty, and guests. Area of responsibility will include assisting in the management of a complex multiple unit retail restaurant operation. Insures staff adheres to the proper culinary, customer service, sanitary guidelines and brand standards as set forth by the franchise agreements and Campus Dining. Assures foods are served properly in an attractive manner. Evaluates employee performance, makes recommendations concerning corrective action, and issues disciplinary notices when necessary. schedules and positions employees to meet needs of the operations. Plans forecasts, orders and receives products. Involved in the implementation of events in the assigned unit and through other Campus Dining units as necessary. Assists in running major catering events. Participates in completing marketing plans, achieving budgetary expectations, and future planning and goal setting. Operational responsibility for multiple revenue centers during a shift.

Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience: 3 to 4 years
