The primary purpose of the Development Coordinator is to manage day to day administrative activities of the Ram Athletic Fund. Coordinate stewardship and special events reconciliation along with data management. The position will provide general supervision to student support staff and athletics development graduate assistants. Additionally, the Athletic Development Coordinator will personally manage stewardship efforts for VCU Athletics donors, including Ram Athletic Fund benefit fulfillment and sport specific booster program benefits in conjunction with other VCU Athletics Development staff.
Typical Duties
Reconciling travel receipts and manage itineraries for Development Officers; Oversee budget planning and reconciling all events; Data entry/gift processing; Provide customer service to all members of the Ram Athletic Fund; Liaison with DAR for events; Direct interaction with donor base and season ticket holders and assist with fulfillment of all benefits for Ram Athletic Fund members; Assist with supervision of Graduate Assistants; Assist with Alumni/donor newsletter; Help create and execute new and innovative programs that promote donor engagement and recognition; Oversee donation requests (e.g., ticket requests from non-profits)
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree or training and experience that equates to an Associate degree;
1-2 years' experience working in a Division l athletics program;
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU:
Knowledge of fundraising principles, practices and trends, preferably in a university setting;
Project management skills;
Analytical and critical thinking skills, including skill in creative and effective decision-making and problem identification/avoidance/resolution; and
Written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships at all organizational levels and with outside constituencies.
