Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Dean of the College of Nursing, the Director of Marketing & Communications leads the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic marketing and communications efforts for the College's statewide programs. Duties include overseeing the development and production of a broad range of communications tactics, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and in alignment with College priorities and the mission of WSU. Additionally, this position oversees a full-time Website Coordinator for the College.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or other relevant field AND four (4) years of professional level experience in print or broadcast media, public relations work or other relevant experience which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic marketing and communication plans, as well as complex projects in these areas.
Demonstrated successful experience working with media and other external organizations.
Demonstrated knowledge of branding, marketing, communication, & advertising techniques.
Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with SPPM 7.10 and departmental driving standards.
Position requires occasional travel (including overnights) to local, regional, & national college events.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
Strong project management skills.
Working knowledge of current marketing techniques, tools, strategies, and resources.
Prior experience working in a Healthcare or Nursing setting.
Knowledge of new media technologies & strategies.
Experience in a higher education environment, including creating marketing materials for college/university programs.
Familiarity with web analytics, goals, conversions, and campaigns.

Monthly Salary:$6,132.33 - $7,861.96; commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
