The Associate Athletics Director for Athletic Advancement will serve as a strategic fundraising partner for the Vice President of Advancement and Director of Athletics. This position reports University Advancement and has a dotted line to the Director of Athletics, emphasizing close collaboration with the athletics office. The Associate Athletics Director for Athletic Advancement is responsible for securing gifts to support the fundraising goals of Radford Athletics. The Associate Athletics Director for Athletic Advancement is responsible for developing strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors. Develop an annual work plan that outlines strategies for communication, engagement, and fundraising efforts for assigned prospects. Enlist the support of University partners to develop appropriate strategies for donors. Extensive travel is required to meet visit/meaningful contact benchmark requirements. The individual in this position is expected to attend and support athletic programming and have a presence at community events such as coach/student-athlete speaking engagements and campus events such as Homecoming and Volunteer Summit. Provide support for the Athletic Foundation Board and recommend prospective members for consideration. The Director of the Highlander Club and the Assistant Director of Revenue Generation report to this position.
Advanced degree in related field or equivalent education and experience. Exceptional written, oral and public speaking skills and the ability to effectively relate to diverse audiences. Proven track record of exceeding established goals and demonstrated experience in fundraising and the process of acquiring philanthropic support for athletics. Proficiency in the use of technology including personal computer and the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
