Reporting to the Vice Dean of Marketing and Communications, the Multimedia Designer will take projects from idea to a fully-realized product through original graphic design, shooting and editing photography and video, creating animation, illustration, and audio all while keeping alignment with the school's mission. This role will be a key resource for the development of a broad range of projects, including but not limited to: visual elements for websites, short-form video for social media, digital and print collateral such as newsletters, fundraising proposals, event invitations, and others as assigned. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, manage deadlines, and execute content strategy for a variety of purposes is expected.
Job Description
Graphic Design and Content Development
Develop print and digital content for a variety of audiences across a number of platforms and channels, including the School's website, e-newsletters, print publications, social media, brochures, reports, event invitations, marketing collateral, advertising, and others as assigned.
Develop creative, innovative, and strategic design projects including the ongoing development and maintenance of visual branding and identity standards.
Work closely, collaboratively, and collegially with other members of the GSE community to deliver final products that are thoughtfully designed and advance the mission and the brand.
Participate in the development of content strategy planning and execute the required design elements for Penn GSE's marketing and communications initiatives
Communicate the visual elements of the Penn GSE brand and articulate what it stands for to a variety of constituencies across a wide audience.
Prepare pre-press files, manage relationships with printers, and coordinate quotes and production schedules to ensure the high-quality production of materials.
Meet with faculty, students, staff, and others to inform design projects.
Asset Management
Manages and maintains all photography, video, and designed assets using various tools and platforms, such as WIDEN photo database, so they can be easily and quickly referenced and accessed for a wide variety of marketing and communications needs.
Time and Project Management
Manage multiple design projects, often involving multiple review processes and tight deadlines.
Organize and manage projects, from concept to completion, with faculty and staff across multiple departments and teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years related graphic design work experience, preferably in an agency setting, higher education, health care, or a non-profit organization; Five to seven years preferred.
Must possess the ability to initiate and implement projects with deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.
Creative thinker and team player, possessing integrity, discretion, and excellent judgment.
Brings a positive attitude and willingness to help other team members.
High to expert skill level in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Expected salary range: $75,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience.

Pay Range $43,919.00 - $80,000.00 Annual Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
