Delta State University is seeking Graduate Assistants to fill multiple positions listed below. Delta State is a member of the Gulf South Conference in NCAA Division II scholarship athletics and hosts 13 Varsity sports. Graduate assistance-ships are 10-month appointments beginning in August and can be renewed for a second year pending successful evaluation at the end of year one.

Responsibilities
Sport positions-These graduate assistants are responsible for duties as assigned by the head coach. Duties could include planning and organizing practice sessions, coordinating travel, game day duties, assisting with recruiting, etc.
Sports Medicine-Applicants for these positions do not need to be Certified Athletic Trainers. Responsibilities will include assisting in maintaining daily function of athletic training room, set up and coverage of events, set up and coverage of practices, and other duties as assigned by the Sports Medicine staff. While a medical or exercise science background is not necessary to successfully perform this position, those with it will continue to find further educational experience through this opportunity.
Strength and Conditioning-This position will work with our Head Strength and Conditioning staff to design and implement strength and conditioning programs for our sport programs. Employees will be assigned to teams with oversight by Head Strength Coach. Must be certified as a strength and conditioning coach or be eligible for certification.
Sports Information-This position will be responsible for serving as the primary media contact for multiple sports, which includes (but is not limited to) statistical compilation, social media updates, game notes, writing and editing of press releases, student-athlete biographical updates, event support for video streaming if needed, etc. Normally sports are assigned as one fall sport, and a combination of one winter and/or one spring sport. Input on preferred sports assignments is welcomed from candidates to properly align the experience with his/her interests.
Marketing and Event Management-These graduate assistants will be responsible for assisting with ticket and merchandise sales, event preparation, game-day management, in-game promotions and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Compliance and academics-This position will work with Compliance Officer to oversee eligibility requirements of student-athletes and compliance of sport programs with respect to NCAA rules.
All positions-All applicants must stay in good academic standing while attending Delta State’s graduate program. Adhere to Delta State and NCAA policies. Provide positive leadership for student-athletes by example. Work with a positive attitude and cultivate teamwork mentality. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
