Scarlet Assets Management Company LLC, or SAMCO, LLC is a business organized to assist Rutgers Athletics in maximizing revenue generation. This includes revenue derived through; the sale and client servicing of Multi-Media advertising sponsorships through Rutgers University properties and assets; the sale and client servicing of Naming Rights sponsorships of Rutgers University venues; Name Images and Likeness (NIL), season tickets, premium ticket sales, groups and individual ticket sales to Athletic and Non-Athletics sponsored events; and any incremental revenue opportunities that utilize Rutgers University assets.

The Director, R NIL is responsible for a comprehensive strategy and execution to maximize NIL opportunities for Rutgers University Student Athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

•Serve as the primary contact for all Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) operations for R NIL, SAMCO, and Rutgers Athletics.

•Lead coordination efforts with all internal departments, including SAMCO Corporate Partnerships, Athletic Development and Rutgers Athletics on behalf of the R NIL Department.

•Develop and execute comprehensive NIL partnership strategies that drive new revenue streams, enhance brand exposure, and strengthen relationships with sponsors and local, regional and national businesses.

•Identify and cultivate opportunities for corporate sponsors to activate NIL partnerships that align with Rutgers’ institutional values and compliance standards.

•Manage relationships with external NIL partners and provide technical and strategic support to student-athletes on all NIL platforms.

•Share critical knowledge, collaborate, and manage internal and external requests from student-athletes, coaches, staff, recruits, families, boosters, and local businesses.

•Oversee staff of content creators and the Manager, Fulfillment & Operations to execute NIL deliverables efficiently and in compliance with university and NCAA guidelines.

•Coordinate with Rutgers Athletics on educational NIL programming

•Analyze performance metrics to evaluate NIL campaign ROI and present strategic recommendations for program growth to SAMCO and Rutgers leadership.

•Responsible for providing each client (corporate or athlete) with an annual report outlining return on investment and key outcomes.

•Support a positive, team-oriented culture by following and supporting all SAMCO and Rutgers policies, communicating effectively across units, and maintaining full compliance with all federal, state, and NCAA regulations.

•Support NIL strategy and sales operations related to NIL programming in collaboration with the EVP, Corporate Partnerships and VP, Operations

•Support the Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director of Marketing, Fan Experience & Brand Strategy on R NIL brand strategy with a focus on advertising and promotion that drives NIL opportunities at Rutgers Events

•Work closely with the VP, Operations, and Brand Fulfillment team to ensure compliance with partnership expectations, deliverables, and all applicable Rutgers, state, and NCAA policies.

•Represent SAMCO and Rutgers NIL initiatives at conferences, community events, and industry forums to promote the university’s NIL leadership and recruit future partners.

•Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

•Bachelor’s Degree

•Five (5) years of demonstrated experience collectively in NIL, college athletics, athlete marketing, licensing, brand partnerships, or related areas

•Passion for college sports and deep understanding of the evolving NIL landscape

•High energy, strong ownership mentality, and contagious drive to help others succeed

•Superior communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

•Enthusiastic and creative with the ability to think strategically and tactically.

•Has the highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.

•Strong computer skills with experience operating in an environment that employs a CRM system (Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.

•Ability to work events for business purposes and to work beyond normal work hours as department workflow necessitates.
