This is a 2-year role with the Southern Arkansas University Men's and Women's golf teams starting January 10, 2023. You will work as an assistant coach while earning your graduate degree. This position gives you the opportunity to develop skills in coaching, swing training, organization, strategic planning, scheduling, physical training, and leadership while gaining the hands-on experience of coaching and working with student athletes on the collegiate level. Graduate Assistant will receive a $4,000 stipend every semester during the two years. Checks will be given out monthly over the course of the semester equaling the total $4,000 stipend. Also, there are opportunities to work additional positions on campus that can grant benefits like free housing, meals plans and experience working in different fields. There are also multiple graduate school scholarship opportunities.
Duties: hold the responsibilities of a full-time coach including training, disciplining and motivating players; will be responsible for taking women's and men's teams across the country and coaching teams in tournament events throughout the season and other duties as assigned.
Requirements: must have an undergraduate degree (bachelors); enrolled in graduate school full-time at Southern Arkansas University during the 2-years (full-time is minimum of 6 hours) learn more at https://web.saumag.edu/graduate; maintain minimum GPA of 3.0 on all graduate course work; must have experience and true interest in the game of golf; must be responsible, dependable, and goal oriented.
