We value the benefits of work/life balance through a hybrid work environment. While regular office presence is not required for this hybrid position, we strongly encourage our employees to work in the office two days a week, with Wednesday as an anchor day to strengthen our collaborative and supportive culture. Managers (with direct reports) are required to work in the office on the anchor day. Generally, twice a year for two consecutive days, all employees report to the office for special staff meetings/functions. As a result, only local candidates will be considered for this position.
As a National Sales Coordinator, you will work closely with our Sales Team to identify and convert new sales leads, cultivate relationships with industry customers, and contribute to the overall success of our digital publications, courses, and annual meeting.
Responsibilities and Duties
Identify new sales leads for organizational industry programs, advertising, annual meeting and course exhibitors/sponsors, publication subscriptions and AASM Career Center postings. Track efforts and report results to the Sales Team.
Own the lead development initiative from identification and conversion.
Coordinate sales calls to existing and prospective customers in collaboration with the sales team.
Email and call advertising/sponsorship representatives regarding deadlines, new promotions, materials and reminders.
Accept advertising contracts and artwork and review material for accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
Act as the primary contact between other AASM staff and the advertiser/sponsor.
Work with meetings and journal production staff to meet advertising deadlines.
Coordinate journal subscription renewal/recruitment processes, and order fulfillment.
Research sleep medicine industry climate and trends, and report findings to the Sales Team.
Assist in developing and maintaining sales collateral and communications including media guides, rate cards, website content, business letters and e-mail updates.
This position requires some travel (5%), which includes weekends.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree (or a combination of education and relevant work experience)
Minimum three years related sales experience, with proven business-to-business sales success.
CMS platform experience
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to convert leads into sales through strategic planning and time management.
Superior customer service skills and positive attitude, demonstrating motivation to achieve and exceed sales goals.
Ability to manage sales process within hard deadlines through proactive communication and organization.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Skill in presenting information and respond to questions from current and prospective customers.
Working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

iMIS, HubSpot, and/or CadmiumCD
