Manages the coordination of all aspects of athletics communications, including supervising the athletics communications coordinator, and supervising and scheduling the graduate assistants, student workers, statisticians, PA announcers, broadcasters, photographers and videographers.
Creates and implements new strategies and tactics to strengthen and promote the AIC Athletics brand.
Ensures proper delivery of website and media content.
Creates strategy and collaborates with the athletics marketing specialist to develop digital content/graphics for games, special events, and social media, and to increase ticket sales for select sports.
Utilizes StatCrew to score games and provide stats, when needed.
Serves as the primary media contact for AIC sports.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Degree(s): Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication, journalism, sports management, athletics administration, or a related field
Preferred Field of Expertise: Previous experience in Athletic Communications/Sports Information or Media Relations
This position will work an extended schedule, including weekends and evenings according to demands of sport schedules. Some travel is required.
Must be able to proactively adapt to an ever-changing athletic communications landscape that will allow for operational efficiencies and maximum productivity.
Working knowledge of game statistical software is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Project coordination skills.
Experience in video editing.
Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Photoshop
Must have general knowledge sports offered at AIC
Ability to work under pressure and meet all deadlines
Knowledge and proper execution of NCAA and conference rules and regulations preferred.
This is a full-time, exempt-level, benefits eligible position. Normal office hours are 8:30am - 4:30pm, flexible to the needs of the department. Evening, weekend, and holiday event work required as the schedule dictates.
