Salary and Benefits:
?Position is a two (2) year appointment
?Salary will be paid as a biweekly stipend and will include primary health insurance coverage once start date is determined
?Graduate school and fees will be paid for the 2-year Master of Athletic Leadership program while maintaining completion of degree requirements
Boise State University invites interested applicants for the position of Event Operations GA. The successful applicant will become part of our team as we build a Metropolitan Research University of Distinction. This position will be responsible to assist with the planning and execution of all athletic department internal and external events. This position will assist with the planning, set-up, and tear down of all events in Boise State Athletics’ premium rental and varsity event spaces. Additionally, this position will assist with the operation of various varsity sporting events. The position will require a working knowledge and understanding of NCAA, Conference and Institutional rules and regulations.
You will have the opportunity to:
Help with the operational needs of Boise State University Athletic facilities
Gain valuable knowledge on facility maintenance and operations procedures
Be a part of improving and maintaining the student-athlete experience
Assist with the coordination and scheduling of student workers based on events
Oversee student workers and temporary staff to perform event and facility tasks
Assist with the planning and execution of event set-up and breakdown of various athletic department, campus, and external events
Be responsible for maintaining NCAA, Mountain West Conference and Boise State rules Compliance
This position will be required to work nights and weekends
All other duties as assigned
At a minimum, you should have:
A Bachelor’s Degree
Basic knowledge of power tools, moving equipment (hand trucks, furniture movers, carts, etc.) equipment, and cleaning procedures
Must be organized, reliable, and willing to cooperatively work to resolve difficult situations
Must have a positive attitude throughout and a willingness to engage in a variety of detail-oriented tasks
Must be self-motivated and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including coaches/athletes, event staff, administration, guests etc.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds and capable of being on your feet for long periods of time
Knowledge of NCAA Rules and Regulations regarding compliance issues
Preferred qualifications:
One (1) to two (2) years of experience in working in a fast-paced environment
One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a team setting
Finalist must attend classes starting January 13, 2025.
