ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ATHLETIC COMPLIANCE AND STUDENT ATHLETE SUCCESS

In coordination with the Sr. Assoc. AD and the Dir. Of Compliance, responsible for the organization, administration, education, and supervision of Newberry College Athletic Department Office of Compliance. In coordination with the Assoc. Dean for Student-Athlete Success, assist in leading and coordinating the institution’s student success initiatives for student-athletes. Full time, Permanent.
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Primary contact for inputting and completing NCAA transfer portal information. 2.Confirm that camp material meets all NCAA requirements. 3.Confirm that committed PSA have met NCAA requirements for press releases. 4.Monitor Declaration of Playing Season. 5.Monitor Countable Athletic Related Activity (CARA). 6.Work with athletic staff to fully integrate Front Rush software. 7.Coordinate academic support services for student-athletes with the Center for Student Success 8.Assist with implementing the institution’s Howl 4 Life program
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Assist in gathering and uploading information and data for both SAAW (Student athlete academic waivers), IEW (initial eligibility waivers), Legislative Relief Waivers, and PTD waivers. 2.Assist in the process of academic certification: •Help input and review academic information for student-athletes. •Help generate Eligibility Reports and Squad list for review by Associate AD for compliance, Financial Aid, Registrar, Athletic Director and Faculty Athletic Representative. 3.Assist with the continuing education of all student athletes, coaches, and staff of Newberry College. 4.Assist with Investigating and reporting all NCAA violations. 5.Assist in Creating educational materials for staff meetings. 6.Work with Newberry PACE (Pathway to Achieving College Excellence), the program for first-year student athletes who need academic support 7.Assist with retention efforts for the athletic department, serving on the Retention Action Group (RAG) 8.Work with CSS to develop and assess academic enrichment/study hall programs 9.Assist with any additional tasks designated to me by the Athletic Director or Associate Athletic Director for compliance.
Bachelor’s degree in related field required, master’s degree preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Ability to work nights and weekends. Experience with NCAA applications and Front Rush preferred.
