Assist the Friar Edge Student-Athlete Development team in all areas of student-athlete success including but not limited to: programming, embodying the six pillars of the program (Personal Enhancement, Academics, Leadership, Community, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Career) assisting Associate Athletic Director in daily tasks, and being an asset and advocate for the growth of Friar student-athletes.
Responsibilities: -Among other duties, this role will provide overall support to the Associate Athletic Director in planning and implementing a comprehensive yearly schedule of programming and curriculum of speakers, workshops and engaging opportunities for all 370+ Friar student-athletes.
-The position will assist with the teams' social media accounts on Instagram and X and create programming graphics and event recaps
-Adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the College, the Big East Conference and the NCAA
-Assist in the coordination of all Friar Edge event logistics to ensure a successful and engaging program
-In partnership with the Associate AD, discover new engagement opportunities with local and national organizations
-Develop and produce student-facing communications, including maintenance of social media, website, and Teamworks online platform as appropriate
-Assist in the tracking of all Friar student-athlete community service opportunities via the Helper Helper platform
Marginal Duties: -Performs all other duties as required -May serve as internal resource on departmental administrative questions -Attend all meetings required -Act within all NCAA Compliance, Providence College legal and compliance rules -Ability to collaborate within the department and across campus
-Bachelor’s Degree required. -Must be admitted to and enrolled in a graduate program at Providence College. (https://graduate.providence.edu/) -Excellent written and oral communication skills. -Strong organizational and planning skills -Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools & social media management -Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends -This is a 12-month position beginning May 28, 2024. It is renewable for a second year based on academic and professional performance. Students must be able to take 1-2 courses in their program in Summer 1 and/or Summer 2 to start on May 28.
