As a full time administrator within the Department of Athletics, the Associate Director of Athletics will assist the Director of Athletics (AD) to provide leadership to the department. Provide oversight for Mens/Womens (M/W) Lacrosse, M/W Tennis, M/W Golf, and Field Hockey. Serve as Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Designee. Supervise matters of compliance, NCAA required reporting, and student-athlete success (e.g. serving on Care Team).
Essential Job Functions:
25 % A. Sport oversight for M/W Lacrosse, M/W Tennis, M/W Golf, Field Hockey. Supervise Head Coaches in those sports – work with AD to develop recruiting goals, oversee budgets, review schedules, provide general support and performance review. 20 % B. Serve as point person for issues related to individual student-athlete success and support. Serve on College Care Team and work with head coaches to establish success plans when necessary. 10 % C. Assist the AD in providing leadership to the Department of Athletics; assess and evaluate issues related to gender/sex representation and equity; provide professional and leadership development programming to staff and student-athletes 10 % D. Serve as Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee – work alongside the Athletic Director and the Center for Race, Equity, and Identity to assess/evaluate/address issues of equity and inclusion within the culture and climate of the department of athletics, plan professional development programming for GA’s and assistant coaches each semester 10 % E. Assist Athletic Director with other administrative duties as assigned – including assisting with the coordination of major events, provide departmental leadership in the absence of the AD, and assist with other departmental programs and initiatives 10 % F. Supervise matters of compliance, provide compliance-related supervision to the Operations and Compliance Coordinator 5 % G. Maintain and improve data departmental assessment and data-collection processes; lead efforts to ensure compliance with NCAA reporting Education:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred: Master’s Degree
Professional Experience:
Required: 5 years full time experience within a collegiate athletic department as a head coach or administrator; experience leading efforts related to equity issues in college athletics, preferably as an ADID.
Preferred: 3 years experience in an administrative/leadership position within a collegiate athletic department; experience as a DIII compliance officer, sport oversight experience, experience with college/university student support teams (CARE); familiarity with NCAA EADA report
